Hi HH,

do you have sore throat with it as well? I woke up with sore throat and swollen glands after about 7 months into the illness out of the blue. What helped me and has always helped since my childhood: I put 2-3 drops of iodine, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda (iodine and salt without soda can work well too) into a glass of warm water and gargle every 2-3 hours. It's quite yuck but for me it does wonders. My sore throat always goes away with it within about 3 days and glands get back to normal. If this is just a swollen gland without sore throat then I don't think it can help.

Init, you can try it too. This definitely won't make it worse but is highly likely to help.

Cheers,
Lana

Lana,

For a disease that is so intangible it certainly has some patterns. I am also 7 months in... weird
Thanks so much for the advice- I'll give it a try. You were very sweet to share your experience with me and point me the way of success! I hope to report back that this was just an isolated blip on the journey back to health. Cheers!

Hey PVF Team,

After months of slow but steady progress, I woke up today with a totally new and random symptom... Perhaps it's totally separate from PVF, I'm not sure
Anyway, right underneath my jawline I have a majorly swollen gland. It's only on one side of my throat and it is actually causing some neck and shoulder pain. I'm just wondering if anyone else has woken up to find totally random symptoms, especially after a period of progress...

In the alternative, does anyone have any nifty home remedies for swollen glands? Thanks for the encouragement

hi there,
From my onset swollen glands have been a problem,i see a homeopath and she has been fantastic, i have a remedy which works for me within minutes of taking it, maybe you should consider going to see a homeopath yourself.

i have found alternative medicine a massive help and i'm sure i would have been alot worse without it,,,,it's no cure but really does help me cope much better.

you may find that your weaker side gets affected more, hence the onesidedness, you glands are all around the neck and shoulder area and will be affected also...

I have had sore throats and swollen glands since october when i caught the virus... probable glandular fever... my throat is worse again at the moment, and hurts more at night. but yes now and then i get swollen glands in the jaw which make my face teeth ears and neck ache. also i seem to get pains in my stomach under my ribs which i think is swollen glands and makes me really nauseas. i just tend to have herbal tea honey and ginger. pretty fed up at the mo, seem to be stuck at 20-50 and not progressing, grouchy day!

GUYS-
from time to time I get this too. Ibuprofen is used to reduce swelling and help with pain. It works. I just take the standard dosage, but take it with food to protect your stomach. It does help! Unfortunately, swollen glands can't be too controlled.
Hope that helps,

Hey

my specialist said the same about glands up around the throat. Apparently a lot of sufferers have them up most of the time- mine are particularly bad after a few days of a friends wedding celebration.
I've been doing really well lately but I find when I push myself my glands being up are a big sign to slow down and get rest.

hope you're all ok x
