I suffered from Post Viral Fatigue from Oct 09 to Oct 10. Although not as severe as some other fellow sufferers as I was never bed bound by the illness. You can read my story on my other posts...
I am extremely happy to announce that I have recovered. I have not been on the forum for some time but wanted to come back on and update you all to inspire you that YOU WILL RECOVER. It is not an overnight recovery. I wanted to post my recovery story as I would read other recovery posts to hold on to my hope of being 'normal again.'

My last severe relapse was in March 2010. From October 09 to October 10, I saw doctors, neurologists, gastroenterologists, hematologists and lots more. All told me I had Chronic fatigue / post viral and that recovery was more promising than not. I had a great GP who I saw fortnightly or whenever I felt the need to inform him of new disturbing symptoms.

Although this recovery story will not be to helpful for the men there were supplements that I benefited from.
In May 2010 I discovered I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I was very upset as I was only 7 months into post viral and was distressed on what was going to happen to me and my unborn child as well as my family. I have a 5 and 2 year old son.
I found that from May to August I became ill with tonsilitis, bronchitis and other illnesess which I required an number of antibiotics for. In august 2010 still suffering ongoing post viral symptoms such as insomnia, muscle aches, eye floaters, lymph nodes, tingling and burnign sensations, etc I went and saw a naturopath. The first product she presecribed was 1 of the 2 products that I benefited from. The first was Luteol Plus, made by metagenics. This helps balance the T1 and T2 lymphocyte cells. The other was an ultra immune probiotic by metagenics. I had been on numerous probiotics but this was by far the best and helped the most. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH OF THESE TO ALL SUFFERERS.
To help with the insomnia my GP prescribed 'Aropax', although a known anxiety/antidepressant this helped my insomnia and put me back into a great sleeping routine. i know alot of sufferers say this is not a mental conditon and I agree, i was hesitant on taking this as I was pregnant and not suffering depression however my GP stated it was for my insomnia only and would help my aches etc.

Up to 28 weeks pregnant I still suffered from my symptoms although i was slowly, ever so slowly improving. At 28 weeks pregnant, everything turned around, I had more energy, sleep was great and symptoms slowly disappeared one by one. My GP informed me that this was because my body was producing more blood ready for labour and was helping my body heal itself. I told him I was worried about relapsing when baby was born and he told me to go with what my body was doing and as it was repairing itself with the help of being pregnant there was no reason I would relapse when baby was born.

I had a beautiful healthy baby girl on the 18 Jan 2011. She is now 6 weeks old and I am happy to announce that I am still totally recovered, No relapses, more energy then ever despite getting up twice a night to feed. I am even walking 40 mins a day trying to lose my baby weight! something I could not do a year ago.I am very happy and feel 100% normal. The only left over symptom I have is eye floaters... My baby was born healthy and is a very content little bub.

I noticed that another sufferer posted about wanting to get pregnant and I wanted those who were curious that it helped me to recovery. I am now a very healthy happy mum. It is a hard decision to make getting pregnant with this illness and as mine was not planned I was very scared. But if you asked me I would say "DO IT." Not only may you recover but also recieve the most beautiful gift you could ask for.

If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer them

Best wishes to everyone and I hope you are all recovering as I know you all will.

P.S. Sorry about the spelling but I am rushing writing this as Im trying to get my 3 kids to bed!!

Hi everyone, I have randomly returned after talking with my husband about 'when i was sick' as we refer to it and I thought Id stop in to let you know that I am still doing very well, in fact better than ever. My baby girl is now 9 months old now and I have not had a relapse and nor do I expect to. Yes I have been sick in the last 9 months with cold and flu type bugs and for the first few months I was nervous about having a relapse but never did. I feel now that my body is as healthy as ever. I hope that answers your question. I have heard of people having a relapse after pregnancy but of more people recovering as well. I do think pregnancy helped my immune system to recover and I stayed positive through it all, even with symptoms while pregnant. I even worried about when I stopped breastfeeding if I would have a relapse. However I have not breastfed in 4 months and with a busy life and 3 kids I am 100%. I hope everyone is continuing to recover. Be positive...there is light at the end of the tunnel and I truly believe that the body is remarkable and can recover from anything....xx
