Hi all
Just wanted to say that I'm feeling a lot better over the last few weeks. Have been taking the following supplements: Magnesium, Vit B complex. Vit B12, Coenzyme Q10. every morning. Drinking lots of water and eating fresh dates and almonds as snacks. Meditation for 30 minutes every night before i go to bed, to try and keep to a sleep routine - at least 7-8 hours. Waking up at the same time every morning and sticking to a nice relaxed routine of showering changing, breakfast etc. i have a 15 minute nap only but rest for 2 hours a day. Have occasional baths with epsom salts, and have incorporated it into my shower gel and lotion too. Trying to stay stress free and avoiding precipitating people and events where possible, and every day I can take on a little more. Also listen to my body....not my mind. when i'm tired I rest flat on the bed...not on a sofa. Even if any of these are placebo effects...I don't care right now coz they're working for me.
Hope somebody finds something useful in there.
ps Its taken me eleven weeks to get this far, but now work 3 days / week. starting 4 days in 2 weeks.
regards

Hiya Smiledr,

You have a VERY sensible approach to this and it is paying off for you and I am really happy ito see t is - if it can be caught early enough with rest etc then PVF will ease sooner I believe for most although I am of course no Dr myself!

Keep us all updated on your status, especially with the phased return, as I know a lot of people are currently doing or about to start this, and you seem to be coping really really well - you should be very proud of yourself for listening to yourself if that makes sense (and also not meant to be patronising!!) I too have a daily routine which seems to help me and hopefully one day I too will be able to return to the work force again!

Hi all,
Good advice from you all and very true, it does us no good trying to be heroes! I start work next week doing afternoons only, we are off after that for two weeks college hols so can have a rest again! Not sure if all afernoons will work but going to have a go, 3 full days sounds a good idea too. As you say I will have to listen to what my body is prepared to do, doc seems to think I am doing very well so fingers crossed. Once again such a great and supportive bunch of people thanks all.

Hi Samc
Would have preferred half days, but because of the nature of my job, I couldn't do just half days . it was all or nothing. So i did one day / week for a few weeks and let me say the first day i worked, i was knocked out for two weeks. so if you can do just half days then thats great, although maybe try alternate half days to start with. You are right you wont know till you try..

Heya
Have done 3 days a week for 2 weeks now, and its going well, Could do four days, in fact the other day I did some gardening just to exert myself a little as I would at work to see if I could manage the 4th day. I managed durig the day in the garden, but the next day was completely shattered and was upset at myself for pushing too much, but I just rested, didn't let anyone interfere and slept early, and the next day I was back to 'normal' again. So will do three days for one more week and then go onto 4 days a week. Work have been understanding although a little irate, but I can't let that get to me otherwise i wouldn't be able to do anything.....listen to your body people...and separate your body from your mind!! I still think I'm superman, but my body is telling me I'm superman with a kryptonite bodysuit.

Thanks for the encouragement Les....just nice to hear nice words....keeps life calm init..

Just an update...worked thursday and half day friday, had to sleep friday afternoon and night, but woke up really refrsshed on saturday, so took the kids to town and then the park and then did mothers day shopping. Was a little tired but pushed on a bit more. slept for 7 hours. a bit tired, but managed to make my wife a mothers day lunch....though i was going to collapse half way through but got through it. Then had to sleep this afternoon, as i totally crashed out...brain fog, limp legs, palpitations, ... everything, feel a bit better after a few hours sleep...but now have got work monday, tuesday, thursday and half day friday....time to plan and relax in my off time...will let you know how i get on.
can't help but wonder...am i getting better or setting myself up for a fall....still relatively new so have to try and learn the hard way...aim for the stars and maybe you'll reach the clouds...but also what goes up must come down...so i just wait for the crash....and if it does...hey.... **** happens
cheers.

Hey doc - watch yourself there! You don't want to end up going from moderately affected to being unable to get out of bed at all for weeks. They say slow and steady increases in activity are best. You may have arrived at this level of activity after a slow grow process, but from what you've described, you may perhaps need to slow down a bit more? As you say, you can plan things including rest next week, but don't just forge ahead and risk losing the ground you have already gained. Ihave to admit am the last person on earth who should be giving this advice, being as I am criminally unable to slow myself down, but your descriptions are ringing alarm bells for me....please take this in the sentiment it is intended...and take care.

Hi,
I agree with TJ, be careful. I was doing realy well, doc also said I was doing very well, started doing things and pushed a few times, went back to work for half a day last monday felt great. That night I woke with severe palpatations, dizziness and legs like lead. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I was almost bed ridden. Scale dropped to 10! I am improving again, bieng possitive and hopefully I have learnt not to push. The doc told me this is something you can not push. You know your own body and as long as you listen to any warning signs you will be ok.
Good luck and please believe this is also meant as good intentions

Warm wishes
Sam
