    Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else has been given advice from their CFS healthcare proffessional regarding whether or not to get the flu vaccine. I get it every year as I am type 1 diabetic, but avoided it last year due to googling the subject (probably a bit too much) as I am convinced it has an effect on my CFS - quite badly- but my GP would prefer me to get it as Flu would probably have an even worse effect.

My CFS specialist said their is no hard evidence against it so they can not advise either way and it was up to me to decide. I dont know what to do. Anyone else thinking about this at the mo since we are approaching flu season????

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

The homeopath I'm seeing strongly disagreed with flu vaccine idea when I asked her just before Christmas, as I thought with CFS given you such a weakened immune system, it'd be a good idea to try and protect myself from flu - but it can quite easily go the other way by the sound of it, and make you feel a lot worse - so I decided in the end not to have one.

Couple of people in my family, with other illnesses, have had the flu vaccine and they felt dreadful for almost a week after, so I personally wouldn't risk it, from what other people have said about it.

sorry havent been on here in ages, so just noticed reply s!mon. thanks for that. I agree, and decided to leave well alone, and so far so good. I have had a pretty easy winter, seem to have avoided all flus and bugs and germs. (famous last words eh!!) so it worked out ok. unfortunatley not much improvement on my CFS, but we cant have everything can we!!!
